Luke is a dedicated family man. Along with his wife, Emily and three sons who attend South School, the Kaufman’s have made New Canaan their hometown for the past six years.
Luke is a highly active member of the New Canaan community. He has made it a priority to carve time out of his busy professional career at Metropolitan Commercial Bank in NYC where he is the Head of Commercial Lending to coach local recreation and travel baseball, flag football and lacrosse teams. If you are a young family with kids in any of those sports you’ve likely seen or (even met) him on the sidelines or at practice dedicating himself to help improve the skills of all those he coaches.
Luke also enjoys many of the town’s attributes such as his membership at the YMCA, frequent splashing around the Waveny Pool with his kids and biking and running with his family in the many beautiful parks throughout town.
His key objectives include a commitment to assist in finding ways to improve MTA train times, continued increase in cell phone service, ensuring the Board of Education has proper funding for its requirements, expanding the New Canaan Athletic foundation’s reach in the region to host more regional tournaments, re-establishing our vital New Canaan family businesses. Luke will also bring to bear his considerable budgetary experience gained over his 20-year career to help continue pursuit of maintaining the town’s strong fiscal integrity.
Luke is eager to continue to expand his commitment to the community by serving as a member of Town Council and asks for you to vote for Luke Kaufman at the Republican Town Committee caucus on July 20, 2021 at Town Hall.
