I am honored to run for New Canaan Town Council. I have had a global 30 plus year career in commercial real estate finance, investing and capital markets. Prior to moving to New Canaan in 2007, I lived in London, New York City, Los Angeles, Nashville and Wichita.

Over the last 18 years, my family and I have been very active in town. Together with other men, who are now some of my best friends, I had the joy of coaching youth sports (baseball, basketball, and soccer) for both Bajaj kids. My family and I are active members of St. Aloysius: Baptism, Confirmation, Catholic Ed, and Emmaus. I joined the Knights of Columbus in 2012. I have served multiple terms on the RTC, and I was elected Constable for 3 consecutive terms. In November 2025, I finish up a 3-year term as Secretary of the New Canaan Ethics Board.

By far, my biggest accomplishment is that I married Sheila Morgan Bajaj in 2000! We have two amazing children: Sophie (NCHS ’21, Bucknell ’25) and John (Loomis Chaffee ’25, Vassar ’29). John is a right-hand pitcher, and he will continue to play baseball in college.

I was born in India and moved to Wichita KS at the age of 4. I played high school football and tennis in Kansas, and I became an Eagle Scout. I graduated from Vanderbilt with a 5-year joint BA/MBA program. My first full-time job was in Los Angeles with First Interstate Bank (now Wells Fargo). I moved from LA to NYC in 1994. In 2000, Morgan Stanley moved Sheila and I to London. In addition to Morgan Stanley, I worked at several other blue-chip firms: Credit Suisse (MD and Head of European Real Estate Finance), Blackstone (Managing Principal in Park Hill real estate advisory group), Madison Marquette (Head of NYC office) and Anbau Enterprises (Chief Investment Officer).

These 18 years on Parish Road in New Canaan have gone by so quickly! I feel lucky to have lived and worked all over the world. And, in my humble experience, New Canaan is the best place to raise a family. Period. Magic. Sheila and I are so happy we landed here, and that is the reason why I am running for Town Council. I compliment all the residents before me who have collectively made this town, the school system and the culture so great. My simple goal: maintain the 5-star quality of life and education in this town and to ensure it is also an affordable AND world-class place to retire. I want my kids to raise their families here.

It is my time to give back. I want to serve as a role model for Sophie and John and my 12 nephews and nieces. Thank you for considering me as a candidate.
