Ms. Parkhill has been a resident of New Canaan for 15 years, a member of the Board of Education since 2017, and a lifelong Republican.

She and her husband, Homer, have three children, Ellie (16), Celia(15), and Pierce (12), who all attend the New Canaan Public Schools.

Presently, Katrina is Chair of the Board of Education. She has served in this role since 2019 and recently chaired the NCPS Reopen Committee that worked throughout last summer and fall to reopen our schools to all students. She also serves on the BOE Resources and Governance Committees. In response to recent school regionalization efforts at the state level, she traveled to Hartford to participate in hearings on behalf of the New Canaan BOE and she is engaged in ongoing state and region-wide legislative discussions on topics of interest to our schools and students.

In the past, Katrina served as President of the West Elementary School Parent Teacher Council. She held Board level positions within the New Canaan Winter Club, First Presbyterian Nursery School, and the Newcomers Club of New Canaan. As members of the Congregational Church of New Canaan, her family is active in the Youth Group and community service programs. She served as head of Children’s Ministries and Education for three years at their former church and remains active on committees and events for her children’s schools, theater, and sports programs.

Before moving to New Canaan, Ms. Parkhill worked in the healthcare industry for over a decade in management consulting and marketing. She held senior managerial positions at Pfizer Inc. and Deloitte Consulting and began her career with Andersen Consulting. Katrina graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1995 with a degree in Communications.
