  • Goals accomplished by the Board during these years included:

 1.  Comprehensive, clear budget presentations

 2.  Redistricting to accommodate increased enrollments

 3.  Focus on capital projects: Throughout district and major environmental work at South and Saxe.  Planning for increased enrollment at Saxe.

 4.   Selection of two superintendents

 5.   Increased communication with parents and town bodies

Career Experience

  • Principal: Two public elementary schools in Greenwich, CT (16 years)

  • Founding Head: Pear Tree Point School in Darien, CT (5 years)

  • Taught: Students in every grade level Pre-K through college graduate. Also

  • Taught: Parenting workshops, Teacher workshops, Principal Workshops

  • Founding President of Principals’ Center (Professional Group)

  • Visited schools in: Ecuador, England., Australia, New Zealand and throughout U.S.

  • Produced, wrote, directed series of five television programs on educational topics forChannel 79

Community Volunteer Experience

  • Founding Board of Stepping Stones Children’s Museum (15 years)

  • Founding Board member Presbyterian Nursery School (7 years-Chair 4 yrs.)

  • Board member: New Canaan High School PFA, Saxe PTC, Center School PTC (President)

  • Board Family Center- Education Committee (Chair) (12 years)

  • New Canaan Library Board (12 years) –Program Committee (Chair)

Have lived in New Canaan with my husband Michael for over 45 years.  We are parents of three grown, married sons (Mike, Scott, Ian) and have ten grandchildren (ages 9-20).

My goal is to work with the Board and the community to provide continued high academic excellence while being fiscally responsible.
