Christa Kenin, Town Council

I fell in love with New Canaan 9 years ago when I moved here with my family from NYC. As soon as my little ones all jumped on the bus, I knew it was time to get involved in our wonderful community. I was elected to the Town Council in 2015 and have been representing our town citizens ever since. I currently serve as Co-Chair on the TC’s Land Use/Parks & Recreation Committee in addition to serving on the Board of Education Committee and the Public Safety/Emergency Services Committee.

I graduated from Cornell University with a Political Science Degree which lead to a 10 year career in Account Services at Ogilvy & Mather. During that time, I spent 3 years attending Brooklyn Law School’s Evening Program. I now look back fondly on those long subway rides with my very heavy book bag. After graduating Brooklyn Law School and passing the NY Bar, I practiced Corporate Law at Reed Smith. Today, I continue to practice law via my solo practice which focuses on the advertising industry.

Before the Town Council, I served as President of the Newcomer’s Club and worked on events for the West PTC and the New Canaan Library.
