Many people are attracted to the community of New Canaan for its small-town beauty, award-winning schools, high-citizen participation and relatively low taxes. Since the 1920s, the Republican Party has been the majority political party in New Canaan. Contributions made by the New Canaan Republicans as elected and appointed officials have been extraordinarily instrumental in making New Canaan such a stellar and strong community.
